What pushy producers are the ABC indulging at our expense ? take Angels in America Not worth five minutes .I bet most of Australia switched off, despite the sales pitch.
The once great ABC whom we used to watch every night seems destined to alieniate its former friends > we watch less and less . The Bill is the same and the Manor yawn ? are the brits too short of a good laugh, and a way back to a bit of life size serious drama ? Is the only independant voice in Austrailia and you trying to lose your regulars ? can you afford to ignore thinking people -Such blatant navel gazing is indulgence, not art. ABC can do it well - find the script writers!and ditch the mediocre and the myopic
cf all the good stuff like kerry's (7:30 report )pointed and helpful interview/ reporting with garrett tonight

For a few brief moments we didn't have to hear the reactionary lefties droning on in a careless imprecise manner about how terrible western civilisation is and all the mistakes we have made-
they didn't say that? - they couldn't get away with that??
Monistic mindset issues?-
Give up the childish carping , get the facts and make up you minds abot monism before you are denied the good you have had ? - before the west becomes east and all the inertia envelops us and the best of what we seem NOW to take for granted is not accessible to our children .

Academics too with no vision, but to close things down? Hard work making decisions about something as simple as the environment! ?????
A sydney academic on the world today last week had no answers for Sugar farmers . Get big - they've got bigger . get smarter ( you name it they"ve done it !
Perhaps he didn't say what he really thought- love to hear from you mate! Rob?
I wonder if he listens to the media and thinks sugar farming is unsustainable ,but wasn't really prepared to say so ----pity the truth is now a large casualty of the war !

There is probably lots of good stuff on the ABc but many of us are not listening >
This weeks reporting shows there is still great diversity on the ABC ( take the well researched responses mentioned on canberra .blogspot.com relating to Bob /mark latham this week ) and we celebrate that .
but a willingnesss to review the past would help avoid the continuing paradigm paralysis driven by reactionary elitists of the 60's..

SBS regularly now outrates the ABC in running a debate that stimulates . Sure Its risky having the masses present, but the ABC is becoming increasingly unstimulating at TV and even radio level.
I don't mind the careful consideration of participants that can make lateline good but is there to much "control "?
Even if we accept TV 's role as entertainment and much radio as shock jocks-and "shock absorption " . why can't media function to encourage the really important issues of resolving and stopping the 'erosion of sound practice in governance".
